Glazing - Glass Replacement

email print page

Asaken Rope Access demonstrate a glass replacement system which is now becoming a common work method around the world.

The ActSafe Rigging Frame is used to create a Davit Arm on the roof of the building and an ActSafe ascender is used to pull up a vacuum pump holding the replacement glass panel. A team of rope access technicians using ActSafe ascenders for personal lifting then accompany the glass panel on the ascent to position it and seal it into its final position.

Using the ActSafe equipment like this eliminates the need to use a crane for the task. Cranes often require additional permits, permissions and sometimes even road closures below, which can increase costs considerably.

Small teams of rope access technicians with portable ActSafe equipment can complete glass replacement projects with minimal impact to the buildings tenants and the surrounding neighbourhoods at competitive prices. For these reasons we are now seeing this work method executed on almost every continent!
